Selling to the Government Luncheon - Sept. 24

The Manufacturers’ Council of the Greater Springfield Chamber is partnering with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center of SW Ohio to bring you a luncheon event that could give you the extra edge to start or propel your government sales.

1st Speaker – Meredith Threatt – Southwest Ohio PTAC Director

Threatt directs the Southwest Central Ohio Procurement Technical Assistance Center, headquartered in Dayton, OH. Originally from North Carolina, Meredith began her career as a contractor at IBM in the Research Triangle Park. Her 8 year tenure at IBM included work in the Networking Hardware Product Development, ThinkPad, Manufacturing, Options and Global Asset Recovery departments. Meredith’s responsibilities included operations, administration, marketing, process development/implementation, training and sales.

In 2000, Meredith took a marketing and sales role with a tech start-up company that developed 3-D internet graphics. Her experience there included cold calling, developing a marketing strategy, writing marketing plans and managing a NASCAR Busch Series Sponsorship relationship. Meredith moved to Ohio in 2004 to work for a small telecomm services management firm in Cincinnati, OH. She joined EMTEC in December of 2005 to work with the PTAC program counseling small businesses in government marketing. Meredith was named Director of SWCO PTAC in the fall of 2006. Meredith earned her Bachelor’s degree in English from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC.

2nd Speaker – Michele “Mickey” Dickman – the Director of the AFRL’s Small Business Office

Dickman is Director of The Air Force Research Laboratory Wright Site Small Business Office at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Since 1985 she has supported the Laboratory as a Contract Negotiator and Contracting Officer for several of the technical directorates. She then served as a Procurement Analyst in the Contracting Policy and Review Office. In 2003 Ms. Dickman moved to her current position as Small Business Specialist supporting the five technical directorates at AFRL Wright Site.
