8 exporting events for Ohio companies – July through November 2009


Below is an email I received last night from Deb Scherer, Director of the Global Markets Division for the Ohio Department of Development.  It lists several events that might be of interest to people, including the Global Summit with Cardinal Health Chairman and CEO Kerry Clark. 

Global Market Summit – Aug. 26, 2009

The Ohio Department of Development’s Global Markets Division, in cooperation with the Association of Ohio Commodores, is pleased to announce that the 2nd Annual Ohio Global Summit will be held again this year in Columbus.  This year’s Global Summit will also be the site of the Governor’s Excellence in Exporting Awards luncheon ceremony.

The Global Summit and E-Awards luncheon will be held at the Hyatt Regency Columbus on Wednesday, August 26, 2009.  Governor Ted Strickland will be in attendance to recognize Ohio companies and organizations with the coveted Excellence in Exporting Awards. The ceremony will feature the Exporters of the Year Award given to one small-to-medium business and to one large business.

September 13-15, 2009 — The 41st Annual Joint Meeting of The Midwest U.S.-Japan Association and the Japan-Midwest U.S. Association will be held this year at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan.  The annual meeting serves as a principal forum on the growth of bilateral trade and investment between the Midwest and Japan.  The MWJA is currently comprised of ten member States that includes Ohio.  Online registration and payment is now available at www.midwest-japan.org.

October 17-27, 2009 – The Greater Cincinnati Chinese Chamber of Commerce is coordinating a 2009 China Business Development Mission to visit Shanghai, Beijing, Liuzhou and Nanning.  The purpose of the mission is to assist Ohio companies to establish business and government contacts and prospective business partners.  For more information, contact the GCCCC at 513-852-4100 or chinesechamberoffice@gmail.com.
